Hiring.zycto is actively seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Industrial Forklift Mechanic to join our growing team in Terwillegar Towne, Edmonton. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance on various types of forklifts (electric, propane, diesel) according to established schedules and procedures.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using specialized tools and diagnostic equipment.
  • Execute repairs and overhauls of engines, transmissions, differentials, hydraulic systems, and electrical components.
  • Conduct thorough inspections to identify potential problems and recommend necessary repairs or adjustments.
  • Order and manage parts inventory for repairs, ensuring efficient workflow.
  • Document all maintenance and repair activities accurately and timely in the maintenance management system.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to operators on proper equipment use and basic troubleshooting.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored and cared for.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with evolving forklift technology and repair techniques.

Required Skills

  • Journeyman Heavy Equipment Technician or equivalent Red Seal certification.
  • Minimum 4 years of proven experience as a Forklift Mechanic or similar industrial equipment role.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing electrical, hydraulic, and engine systems of various forklift brands.
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols and best practices in an industrial environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic codes.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License with a clean driving record.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with specific forklift diagnostic software (e.g., Crown, Raymond, Toyota, Hyster-Yale).
  • Welding and fabrication experience.
  • Familiarity with fleet management software.
  • Post-secondary education in Diesel Mechanics, Heavy Duty Equipment Technician, or a related field.
  • Forklift operator certification.
