Job Description
Hiring.zycto is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Inventory Control Specialist to join our bustling warehouse team in Edmonton. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of inventory management, from receiving and stocking to tracking and dispatching, ensuring that our supply chain operates seamlessly. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain accurate inventory records using our Warehouse Management System (WMS), performing regular cycle counts and full physical inventories.
- Monitor stock levels, identify discrepancies, and investigate root causes, implementing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Coordinate with receiving, shipping, and production departments to ensure smooth material flow and accurate documentation.
- Analyze inventory data to identify trends, forecast demands, and make recommendations for process improvements and optimization.
- Ensure all inventory transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled, adhering to company policies and procedures.
- Prepare comprehensive inventory reports for management, highlighting key metrics and performance indicators.
- Operate various warehouse equipment safely and efficiently, including forklifts and pallet jacks, as required.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment within the warehouse.
Required Skills
- Minimum 3 years of experience in inventory control or warehouse operations.
- Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and inventory software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to operate a forklift and other material handling equipment (certification preferred).
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
- Experience with SAP or other major ERP systems.
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Valid forklift operator certification.
