Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain a variety of grounds maintenance equipment including mowers, trimmers, blowers, and utility vehicles.
- Perform daily course setup duties such as changing hole locations, moving tee markers, and emptying refuse containers.
- Execute turfgrass management tasks including mowing greens, tees, fairways, and roughs to specified heights.
- Conduct irrigation system checks, minor repairs, and adjustments to ensure optimal water distribution.
- Perform general landscaping duties, including pruning, weeding, mulching, and planting.
- Maintain bunkers by raking and shaping sand, and ensuring proper drainage.
- Assist with pest and disease control applications under supervision, adhering to safety protocols.
- Participate in seasonal tasks such as aerification, topdressing, overseeding, and winterization.
- Report equipment malfunctions or course issues to the Head Superintendent promptly.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations and operational procedures.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in grounds maintenance or landscaping, preferably within a golf course setting.
- Proficiency in operating various types of landscape and turf equipment.
- Ability to perform strenuous physical work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- Valid G-class driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Basic knowledge of turfgrass health and common golf course maintenance practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Horticulture or Landscaping Technician diploma or certificate.
- Experience with irrigation system troubleshooting and repair.
- Knowledge of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) principles.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Familiarity with golf course etiquette and game rules.
