As a Pest Control Technician, you will be the front-line hero, protecting properties from various pests while delivering outstanding customer service. Your day will involve traveling to residential and commercial sites throughout the Stittsville and Ottawa area, conducting thorough inspections, identifying pest infestations, and implementing effective treatment plans. This role requires a blend of technical aptitude, excellent communication skills, and a genuine desire to help others. You will learn about various pest behaviors, safe application techniques, integrated pest management strategies, and the latest industry innovations.
Beyond technical skills, we emphasize building strong client relationships. Key Responsibilities
- Complete comprehensive paid training and obtain required provincial and company licenses/certifications.
- Conduct thorough inspections of residential and commercial properties to identify pest infestations and entry points.
- Develop and implement effective, environmentally responsible pest control treatment plans.
- Apply pesticides safely and according to regulations, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Provide exceptional customer service, explaining services, findings, and prevention tips clearly to clients.
- Maintain accurate records of services performed, including pest activity, treatments applied, and client communications.
- Manage and maintain company equipment and vehicle in good working order.
- Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development.
- Work independently and manage daily routes efficiently.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid G-Class Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Comfortable working in various environments (e.g., attics, crawlspaces, outdoors in varying weather).
- Physical capability to lift and carry equipment, climb ladders, and bend/kneel as required.
