Key Responsibilities
- Design and execute oceanographic field surveys, experiments, and sampling programs.
- Collect, process, and analyze complex oceanographic data, including physical, chemical, and biological parameters.
- Develop and apply numerical models to simulate ocean processes, currents, and climate interactions.
- Interpret large and diverse data sets, preparing comprehensive scientific reports, peer-reviewed publications, and presentations.
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams of scientists, engineers, and policy experts on various research projects.
- Maintain, calibrate, and operate specialized oceanographic equipment and instrumentation.
- Contribute to the development of grant proposals and applications for research funding.
- Communicate complex scientific findings clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and environmental regulations during all field operations and laboratory work.

- Proven experience in project management within a scientific research context, including budget and timeline management.
- Familiarity with Arctic, North Atlantic, or Great Lakes oceanography and associated environmental challenges.
- PADI Open Water Diver certification or equivalent for potential underwater research.
