Hiring.zycto is seeking a dynamic Activity Leader to join our Kids Club team in Mount Pleasant, Brampton. This pivotal role involves planning, organizing, and leading a diverse range of engaging activities for children aged 5-12, fostering an environment of fun, learning, and safety.
As an Activity Leader, you will be the heart of our Kids Club, responsible for developing creative programs that encourage physical activity, artistic expression, problem-solving, and social development. From exciting arts and crafts sessions to engaging outdoor games, story time adventures, and educational projects, you’ll inspire young minds and build lasting memories. We’re looking for someone who can effortlessly connect with children, understand their needs, and adapt activities to cater to varying interests and age groups, ensuring every child feels included and valued.
Safety is paramount, and you will be responsible for strictly adhering to all Kids Club policies and procedures, maintaining a secure and supervised environment at all times. This includes managing group dynamics, responding effectively to incidents, and communicating clearly with both children and their parents/guardians. You’ll also play a key role in maintaining a clean, organized, and stimulating activity space, preparing materials, and ensuring equipment is used safely and appropriately.

Key Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and lead a variety of engaging and age-appropriate activities for children (e.g., arts & crafts, sports, games, storytelling, educational projects).
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children in the Kids Club at all times, adhering to all company policies and safety protocols.
- Supervise children during activities, meal times, and free play, maintaining appropriate child-to-staff ratios.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and encouraging environment where every child feels valued and engaged.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents/guardians, and team members regarding daily activities, incidents, and child progress.
- Prepare and set up activity materials and equipment, and ensure the activity area is clean, organized, and safe before and after use.
- Manage group dynamics and behavior, implementing positive reinforcement techniques.
- Administer basic first aid when necessary, following established procedures (if certified).
- Contribute to team meetings and collaborate with colleagues to develop new program ideas and improve existing ones.
Required Skills
- Proven experience working with children aged 5-12 in a recreational, educational, or childcare setting.
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR/AED Level C certification.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, particularly with children and parents.
- Strong creativity and imagination for developing engaging activities.
- High energy level, enthusiasm, and a positive, patient demeanor.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to ensure safety and manage groups of children effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-secondary education or diploma in Early Childhood Education (ECE), Recreation & Leisure, Child & Youth Care, or a related field.
- Experience in a camp, community centre, or similar structured program environment.
- Specific talents or skills such as music, drama, sports coaching, or artistic abilities.
- Experience with diverse age groups or children with special needs.
