Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of equipment maintenance technicians.
  • Develop, implement, and oversee preventative maintenance programs for all equipment.
  • Manage and prioritize equipment repair schedules to minimize downtime and optimize operational readiness.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment service history, repairs, and inspections.
  • Oversee equipment inventory, parts procurement, and asset tracking systems.
  • Manage the equipment maintenance budget, identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and environmental standards.
  • Negotiate and manage relationships with external vendors for parts, services, and new equipment acquisitions.
  • Conduct regular equipment inspections and performance assessments to ensure peak operational efficiency.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives for equipment maintenance processes and procedures.

Required Skills

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in equipment management or fleet maintenance.
  • Proven leadership and team management abilities with a track record of motivating technicians.
  • Strong technical knowledge of various types of industrial equipment and machinery.
  • Proficiency in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Solid understanding of budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting related to equipment assets.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Valid G-class driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Relevant trade certification (e.g., Heavy Equipment Technician, Industrial Mechanic).
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with local health and safety regulations (e.g., OHSA).
