Job Description

Hiring.zycto is seeking an experienced and visionary Museum Curator to join our dedicated team, playing a pivotal role in shaping the cultural landscape of Fletcher’s Meadow and the wider Brampton community. As a Curator, you will be instrumental in the research, development, and interpretation of our diverse collections, focusing on regional history, art, and cultural artifacts. This is a unique opportunity for an individual with a profound passion for heritage, exceptional organizational skills, and a creative approach to public engagement.

You will be responsible for the stewardship of museum collections, ensuring their proper care, documentation, and accessibility. A key part of your role will involve conceptualizing, planning, and executing innovative exhibitions that captivate audiences and offer fresh perspectives on our shared past. This includes everything from initial research and object selection to crafting compelling interpretive texts and overseeing installation. Collaboration will be essential; you’ll work closely with educators, conservators, exhibition designers, and community stakeholders to bring exhibitions and programs to life, ensuring they are not only educational but also deeply resonant with diverse audiences.

Beyond exhibitions, you will contribute to the ongoing growth and enhancement of the collection through careful research, potential acquisitions, and deaccessioning processes in line with the museum’s mission and policies. Your expertise will also be vital in developing grant proposals, securing funding for projects, and representing the museum at professional conferences and community events, elevating our profile. We are looking for a thought leader who can not only manage collections but also inspire and educate visitors, making history accessible and relevant to all, fostering a sense of community pride and identity. If you are a proactive, detail-oriented professional with a proven track record in museum curatorship and a commitment to cultural enrichment, we encourage you to apply and help us make a lasting impact.
