Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Cloud Engineer with expertise in AWS, Azure, and traditional server deployment to join our growing technical team in Nottingham. As a Cloud Engineer at Hiring.zycto, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and managing our cloud infrastructure across multiple platforms, as well as maintaining on-premise server environments. This position requires a hands-on approach, combining strong cloud architectural knowledge with practical experience in physical server setup, configuration, and troubleshooting.

You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of our cloud-based and hybrid solutions. This involves everything from provisioning resources and automating deployments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles to monitoring performance, optimizing costs, and responding to incidents. You will work closely with development and operations teams to integrate new applications and services, ensuring seamless transitions and optimal performance.

Beyond cloud platforms, you will also manage and deploy physical servers, ensuring their integration into our hybrid infrastructure. This includes OS installation, network configuration, hardware troubleshooting, and maintaining patch levels. A deep understanding of networking, security best practices, and data integrity is crucial for success in this role. We’re looking for an individual who is passionate about continuous learning, embraces new technologies, and can contribute to a culture of technical excellence and innovation. If you are adept at bridging the gap between traditional IT infrastructure and modern cloud solutions, we encourage you to apply.

  • Design, implement, and manage scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud infrastructure solutions on AWS and Azure.

  • Monitor cloud and on-premise infrastructure performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies.
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines to facilitate rapid and reliable application deployments.
  • Implement and enforce security best practices across all cloud and server environments.
  • Collaborate with development teams to integrate new applications and services into existing infrastructure.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for complex infrastructure issues.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Cloud Engineer or similar role.

  • Strong experience with server operating systems (Windows Server, Linux distributions).
  • Demonstrable experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform preferred).
  • Scripting proficiency (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash).
  • Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, firewalls).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI).

Preferred Qualifications

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional.
  • Microsoft Certified Azure Administrator Associate or Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
  • Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Familiarity with configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef).
