Hiring.zycto is actively seeking an exceptionally talented and highly motivated Financial Controller to join our executive leadership team in Kildonan, Winnipeg. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounting operations including billing, A/R, A/P, GL, cost accounting, inventory accounting, and revenue recognition.
- Manage the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare and publish timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting and ensure compliance with local, provincial, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Manage and oversee the company's financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting activities.
- Provide financial analyses and reports as needed, including budget vs. actuals, variance analysis, and operational performance metrics.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors, ensuring efficient and effective audit processes.
- Research technical accounting issues for compliance and provide recommendations for resolution.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- CPA designation (or equivalent recognized accounting designation)
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance roles, with at least 3 years in a Controller or senior accounting management position
- Strong understanding of GAAP and IFRS principles
- Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, financial modeling)
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- Superior communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing across all levels of the organization

- Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Finance
