As a Construction Laborer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining clean and safe worksites, assisting skilled trades, and performing essential tasks that keep our projects on schedule and up to our exacting standards. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform general site clean-up and maintenance, ensuring a safe and organized work environment.
  • Load and unload construction materials, tools, and equipment efficiently and safely.
  • Assist skilled tradespersons (carpenters, electricians, plumbers, etc.) with various tasks as directed.
  • Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently under supervision.
  • Dig trenches, shovel earth, and compact soil as required for project specifications.
  • Mix, pour, and spread concrete, asphalt, gravel, and other construction materials.
  • Erect and dismantle temporary structures, scaffolding, and barricades in compliance with safety standards.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, company policies, and provincial guidelines.
  • Report any hazards, incidents, or equipment malfunctions to the site supervisor immediately.
  • Assist with demolition and debris removal as needed, ensuring proper disposal.

Required Skills

  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods.
  • Strong understanding and adherence to construction site safety protocols.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) repeatedly.
  • Basic knowledge and safe operation of common hand and power tools.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Reliability and punctuality are essential.
  • Valid G Class Driver's License and access to reliable transportation (asset for site mobility).
  • WHMIS certification (can be obtained upon hire).
  • Working at Heights certification (can be obtained upon hire).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a construction laborer or similar role (6+ months).
  • Experience with specific construction equipment (e.g., skid steers, forklifts) is a plus.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Enthusiasm for learning new skills and taking on new challenges within the industry.
