Job Description

As a Barback, you are the backbone of our bar operations, ensuring our bartenders have everything they need to deliver exceptional service. Your role is crucial to maintaining the smooth flow of service, especially during peak hours. You’ll be responsible for keeping our bar fully stocked, sparkling clean, and organized, all while soaking in the high-energy atmosphere of a premier Toronto nightclub. We’re looking for someone with a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and a genuine desire to contribute to a fantastic team. Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently restock all bar stations with liquor, beer, wine, ice, garnishes, and other supplies throughout the shift.
- Maintain a clean and organized bar area, including wiping down surfaces, sweeping, mopping, and ensuring glassware is clean and ready for use.
- Assist bartenders with general duties, including retrieving specific bottles, changing kegs, and preparing mixers.
- Manage waste, including emptying trash bins and recycling bottles and cans regularly.
- Ensure all refrigeration units are adequately stocked and organized.
- Monitor and replace empty liquor bottles, informing bartenders of low stock levels.
- Support the overall team effort to provide a seamless and enjoyable experience for all patrons.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene standards and regulations.
Required Skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Strong physical stamina and ability to lift heavy boxes (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
- Reliability and punctuality, particularly for late-night and weekend shifts.
- Basic understanding of cleanliness and hygiene standards.
- Must be 18 years of age or older (due to liquor handling).
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a customer service or hospitality role (even if not bar-related).
- Smart Serve certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
- Familiarity with basic bar terminology and operations.
