Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior pastry chefs and bakers with daily preparation and production of various baked goods, including cakes, cookies, pastries, and bread.
  • Measure and mix ingredients according to recipes, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  • Perform basic dough preparation, rolling, cutting, and shaping tasks.
  • Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including mixers, ovens, and proofers.
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of the pastry station and kitchen area at all times, adhering to food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Package, label, and store finished products appropriately.
  • Monitor inventory of ingredients and supplies, reporting shortages to the supervisor.
  • Support the team with dishwashing and general kitchen upkeep as needed.
  • Learn and adapt to new recipes, techniques, and procedures under guidance.

Required Skills

  • Ability to follow instructions accurately and meticulously.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic understanding of kitchen hygiene and food safety principles (training provided).
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 25 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks.

  • Reliable and punctual.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in a kitchen, even in a home setting, demonstrating an interest in cooking or baking.
  • Basic knowledge of different types of flours, sugars, and leavening agents.
