Key Responsibilities
- Assist Site Supervisors in daily site operations, including monitoring progress and resource allocation.
- Learn and strictly adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, actively promoting a safe work environment.
- Help maintain accurate site records, including daily logs, incident reports, and material tracking.
- Participate in site meetings, taking notes and contributing to discussions as appropriate.
- Support quality control efforts by inspecting work and ensuring adherence to project specifications and drawings.
- Assist with scheduling, coordinating subcontractors, and managing material deliveries.
- Shadow experienced professionals to understand project workflows, problem-solving, and communication strategies.
- Contribute to maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient construction site.
- Proactively seek opportunities to learn new skills and take on additional responsibilities.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Eagerness to learn and a positive, can-do attitude
- Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office Suite)
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Good problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Physical fitness and ability to work in various weather conditions on a construction site
- Valid G-class driver's license with a clean driving record
Preferred Qualifications
- Enrollment in or completion of a construction-related college program (e.g., Construction Management, Civil Engineering Technology)
- Prior experience in a labourer role or any hands-on construction work (even part-time or volunteer)
- Knowledge of basic construction tools and equipment
- First Aid/CPR certification
- Working at Heights certification
