Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with recruitment processes, including posting job advertisements, screening resumes, and scheduling interviews.
  • Maintain and update employee records and HR databases with accuracy and strict confidentiality.
  • Support the HR team with onboarding new hires, preparing welcome kits, and coordinating first-day logistics.
  • Prepare various HR-related documentation, such as offer letters, employment verifications, and performance review forms.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies, benefits, and general information, or escalate issues as appropriate.
  • Coordinate and schedule HR meetings, training sessions, and employee engagement events.
  • Assist in the preparation of HR reports and presentations as required by management.
  • Process HR-related invoices and expenses, ensuring timely submission and accurate record-keeping.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of HR initiatives and special projects.
  • Perform general administrative duties to support the efficient operation of the HR department.

Required Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities with keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with utmost discretion.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and eager to learn new HR concepts and systems rapidly.
  • Basic understanding of HR principles and best practices or a strong willingness to learn.
  • Proven ability to work effectively both independently and as a collaborative team member.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Previous administrative or office support experience (volunteer or paid).
  • Familiarity with HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) or applicant tracking software.
  • General knowledge of Canadian employment laws and regulations.
  • Experience with event planning or coordination.
