Hiring.zycto is excited to be recruiting on behalf of a thriving Community Nursery in the heart of Edgbaston, Birmingham, for a dedicated and enthusiastic Childcare Assistant. Key Responsibilities
- Assist in planning and delivering engaging and age-appropriate activities, both indoors and outdoors, in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
- Provide high-quality care, ensuring the safety, well-being, and happiness of all children at all times.
- Support children's personal care routines, including feeding, nappy changing, and sleep supervision, promoting independence where appropriate.
- Observe and monitor children's development, maintaining accurate records and reporting any concerns to senior staff.
- Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues, ensuring clear and effective communication.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and stimulating learning environment, including preparing resources and clearing up after activities.
- Adhere to all nursery policies and procedures, particularly those relating to safeguarding, health and safety, and equal opportunities.
- Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and continuous professional development opportunities.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with children, parents, and staff.

Preferred Qualifications
- Level 2 or 3 qualification in Early Years Education and Childcare (e.g., NVQ, CACHE, BTEC).
- Current Paediatric First Aid certification.
- Previous experience working in a nursery or childcare setting.
- Solid knowledge and practical application of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
