Key Responsibilities
- Shadow and learn from experienced Cross Dock Managers, Supervisors, and team leads.
- Assist in the coordination of inbound and outbound freight, ensuring accurate sorting and staging.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with cycle counts to maintain data accuracy.
- Learn and apply best practices for warehouse safety and operational efficiency.
- Participate in daily operational meetings and contribute to problem-solving discussions.
- Help prepare shipping and receiving documentation, including manifests and bills of lading.
- Support the management of equipment and resources within the cross-dock facility.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, warehouse staff, and internal departments.
- Perform data entry and administrative tasks related to logistics operations.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the cross-dock environment.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (MS Office Suite).
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- A strong desire to learn and grow within the logistics and supply chain industry.
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs as needed in a warehouse setting.
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-secondary education (diploma or degree) in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Previous experience in a warehouse, shipping, or receiving environment (even part-time).
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or inventory software.
