Key Responsibilities

  • Shadow and learn from experienced Cross Dock Managers, Supervisors, and team leads.
  • Assist in the coordination of inbound and outbound freight, ensuring accurate sorting and staging.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist with cycle counts to maintain data accuracy.
  • Learn and apply best practices for warehouse safety and operational efficiency.
  • Participate in daily operational meetings and contribute to problem-solving discussions.
  • Help prepare shipping and receiving documentation, including manifests and bills of lading.
  • Support the management of equipment and resources within the cross-dock facility.
  • Communicate effectively with drivers, warehouse staff, and internal departments.
  • Perform data entry and administrative tasks related to logistics operations.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the cross-dock environment.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.

Required Skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications (MS Office Suite).
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • A strong desire to learn and grow within the logistics and supply chain industry.
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs as needed in a warehouse setting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education (diploma or degree) in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in a warehouse, shipping, or receiving environment (even part-time).
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or inventory software.
  • Forklift certification or willingness to obtain one.
  • Demonstrated leadership potential or experience in a team setting.
