Hiring.zycto is actively seeking a diligent and experienced Van Driver to join our dedicated logistics team for local routes within York Mills and the greater Toronto area. This full-time position is crucial to our operational success, involving the safe and efficient transportation of goods to our valued clients. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate a company van for local deliveries within York Mills and the greater Toronto area.
- Load and unload merchandise carefully, ensuring items are secured properly to prevent damage during transit.
- Plan and follow optimal routes to ensure timely and efficient deliveries, utilizing GPS and mapping tools as needed.
- Interact professionally and courteously with customers, representing Hiring.zycto with a positive attitude.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any mechanical issues or damage promptly.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, records of mileage, fuel consumption, and any incidents encountered.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, company safety policies, and transportation regulations.
- Assist with warehouse duties, including sorting and organizing packages, when not on a delivery route.
- Handle delivery documents, collect signatures, and process returns or exchanges as per company procedures.
Required Skills
- Valid G Class driver's license with a clean driving record (abstract required).
- Minimum 2 years (24 months) of professional van driving or delivery experience.
- Thorough familiarity with Toronto and GTA road networks, traffic patterns, and alternate routes.
- Excellent time management, organizational, and route planning skills.
- Physical ability to lift, push, and carry packages weighing up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective customer interaction.
- Proven reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions on the road.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience operating a delivery scanner or handheld GPS devices.
- Basic mechanical knowledge for minor vehicle troubleshooting.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
