Job Description

Hiring.zycto is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic individuals to join our team as Recycling Sorters in our Eglinton East facility. This is an entry-level position, and we warmly welcome applicants with no prior experience – we believe in training and developing our talent from the ground up!

As a Recycling Sorter, you will be at the heart of our operations, playing a crucial role in diverting recyclable materials from landfills. You will work within a fast-paced and supportive team environment, meticulously separating various materials such as plastics, paper, glass, and metals on a conveyor belt. Your keen eye for detail and commitment to quality will ensure that only the correct materials are processed, making a significant difference in the efficiency and effectiveness of our recycling streams.

This role is physically demanding and requires standing for extended periods, repetitive motions, and the ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally. However, it’s also incredibly rewarding, knowing that your daily work directly contributes to reducing waste, conserving natural resources, and fostering a healthier community. Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and manually sort various recyclable materials (plastics, paper, cardboard, glass, metals) from a conveyor belt.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
  • Operate basic sorting equipment safely and efficiently after receiving appropriate training.
  • Assist with general cleanup and maintenance tasks within the sorting facility as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding material flow and quality issues.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures, including attendance and punctuality standards.
  • Participate in ongoing training and safety refreshers as required.

Required Skills

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
  • Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination.
