This role requires more than just basic cleaning; it demands acute attention to detail, a proactive approach to identifying and addressing needs before they arise, and the ability to work efficiently and independently within a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for a wide variety of tasks that actively support both our housekeeping and front-of-house teams, ensuring that our property is always looking its absolute best. From meticulously maintaining sparkling floors, polished surfaces, and spotless windows in our lobbies and hallways to ensuring that all linen closets are fully stocked and accessible for room attendants, your contribution will be tangible, highly valued, and immediately visible.
Beyond general upkeep, you will also play a key role in responding to guest requests, assisting with the movement of hotel property, and ensuring waste management is handled effectively and discreetly. Key Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain all public areas of the hotel, including lobbies, hallways, elevators, stairwells, public restrooms, and service areas, ensuring they are consistently spotless and inviting.
- Transport linen, towels, and supplies to and from guest rooms and storage areas, assisting the room attendants as needed.
- Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests for amenities, extra supplies, or assistance, demonstrating excellent customer service.
- Remove trash and recyclables from designated areas, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the property.
- Move furniture, luggage, or other heavy items as required, safely and efficiently.
- Monitor and report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or security concerns to the appropriate department.
- Assist with set-up and breakdown of meeting rooms, banquet spaces, or other special event areas.
- Ensure all equipment is used safely and efficiently, following established cleaning procedures and chemical handling guidelines.
- Adhere to all hotel policies, safety regulations, and security procedures.
- Work collaboratively with the housekeeping team and other departments to ensure seamless operations.
Required Skills
- Excellent physical stamina and the ability to lift, push, pull, and carry moderate to heavy loads repeatedly (up to 50 lbs)
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods throughout a shift
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Basic communication skills to interact with guests and team members
- Eligibility to work in Canada
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a hotel or hospitality environment as a Houseperson, Cleaner, or similar role
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and their safe application
- First Aid and CPR certification
