Hiring.zycto is seeking a dedicated and skilled Zamboni Driver to join our dynamic arena operations team in Malvern, Toronto. This full-time position is crucial for maintaining the exceptional quality of our ice surfaces, ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for all patrons, from amateur hockey players to competitive figure skaters. As a Zamboni Driver, you will be the unsung hero behind every perfect skate, responsible for the meticulous preparation and maintenance of our ice, a task that directly impacts the safety and performance of everyone who steps onto it.

Your daily duties will involve operating the Zamboni ice resurfacing machine with utmost precision and care, following a strict schedule to ensure optimal ice conditions before, during, and after various events, practices, and public skating sessions. This isn’t just about driving; it requires a keen eye for detail in monitoring ice thickness, temperature, and overall surface integrity, making real-time adjustments as necessary. You will be instrumental in performing routine preventative maintenance on the Zamboni machine itself, conducting thorough pre-operation checks, cleaning the machine, and promptly reporting any mechanical issues to facility management to ensure seamless, uninterrupted operation.

Beyond the Zamboni, this role contributes significantly to the overall positive atmosphere of our arena. You will strictly adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, not just for machine operation but for general arena safety. Collaboration with other facility staff, including event coordinators and maintenance personnel, will be key to ensuring smooth transitions between events and efficient operations. You might also assist with general arena maintenance tasks, such as minor repairs, cleaning locker rooms, organizing equipment, or setting up and tearing down for events when not operating the Zamboni.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude, a steadfast commitment to safety, and a genuine passion for delivering a premium, consistently excellent ice experience. If you take immense pride in achieving a perfectly smooth and clean ice surface, understand the critical role it plays in sports and recreation, and thrive in a community-focused, supportive work environment, we encourage you to apply. Your expertise and dedication will directly enhance the experience of every person who steps onto our ice, making you a truly vital part of our arena’s success and the local sporting community.
