Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Facility Maintenance professional to join our team in Centennial Scarborough, Toronto. This full-time role is crucial for ensuring the safety, functionality, and aesthetic appeal of our premises. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance duties, including preventative maintenance, repairs, and general upkeep of the building and its systems. Your work will directly impact the daily experience of our staff and visitors, contributing to a secure and productive environment. Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting) and equipment.
- Conduct inspections to identify and resolve issues, ensuring all facilities meet safety and operational standards.
- Execute minor repairs and improvements to plumbing, carpentry, painting, and general structural elements.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and troubleshoot issues efficiently.
- Coordinate with external contractors for specialized repairs or projects when necessary.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inventory of supplies.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Assist with groundskeeping and exterior maintenance tasks as required.
- Monitor and maintain security systems, including locks, alarms, and access controls.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in facility maintenance or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of general building maintenance, including basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints.
- Proficiency with hand and power tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and perform manual tasks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant trade certification (e.g., HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing).
- First Aid and CPR certification.
