Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with various stages of the recruitment and onboarding process, including drafting job descriptions, posting advertisements, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and preparing new hire paperwork.
  • Support HR administrative tasks such as maintaining accurate employee records, updating HR databases, and ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant legislation.
  • Contribute to the planning, coordination, and execution of employee engagement initiatives, internal communications, and company events to foster a positive workplace culture.
  • Conduct research on HR best practices, industry trends, and employment laws to assist in the development and refinement of HR policies and programs.
  • Provide general administrative support to the HR department, including managing calendars, preparing presentations, and handling correspondence.
  • Participate in special HR projects related to talent development, performance management, organizational culture, or diversity and inclusion initiatives.
  • Act as a point of contact for employee inquiries, directing them to the appropriate HR professional or resource as needed.

Required Skills

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program (diploma or degree) in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong organizational abilities and the capacity to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with utmost discretion and professionalism.
  • Proactive attitude, eagerness to learn, and a strong sense of initiative.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in an office environment, customer service role, or volunteer position demonstrating strong administrative skills.
  • Familiarity with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) or Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).
  • Basic understanding of Canadian employment standards and human rights legislation.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
