You will act as a crucial link between our clients, shipping lines, and overseas agents, ensuring that all aspects of the sea freight process are handled with efficiency and accuracy from booking to delivery. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end sea freight process, including bookings, documentation, and customs clearance.
  • Liaise with clients, shipping lines, overseas agents, and hauliers to ensure smooth operations.
  • Prepare and process all relevant shipping documentation (B/Ls, commercial invoices, packing lists, customs entries).
  • Track and trace shipments, providing timely updates to clients on status and potential delays.
  • Handle customer enquiries, resolve issues, and provide excellent service to maintain client satisfaction.
  • Ensure compliance with international shipping regulations, customs requirements, and company policies.
  • Negotiate rates with carriers and suppliers to optimize costs and service levels.
  • Maintain accurate records and databases of all freight movements and client interactions.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and service quality.
  • Process invoices and resolve discrepancies related to freight charges.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Sea Freight Agent or similar role within freight forwarding.
  • In-depth knowledge of sea freight operations, including FCL and LCL shipments.
  • Strong understanding of customs procedures and international shipping regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management abilities, with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality service.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant certifications in freight forwarding, logistics, or international trade.
  • Experience with industry-specific freight management software (e.g., CargoWise, Scope).
  • Knowledge of other freight modes (air, road) is a plus.
  • Additional language proficiency.
  • Degree or diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
