Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end sea freight process, including bookings, documentation, and customs clearance.
- Liaise with clients, shipping lines, overseas agents, and hauliers to ensure smooth operations.
- Prepare and process all relevant shipping documentation (B/Ls, commercial invoices, packing lists, customs entries).
- Track and trace shipments, providing timely updates to clients on status and potential delays.
- Handle customer enquiries, resolve issues, and provide excellent service to maintain client satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with international shipping regulations, customs requirements, and company policies.
- Negotiate rates with carriers and suppliers to optimize costs and service levels.
- Maintain accurate records and databases of all freight movements and client interactions.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and service quality.
- Process invoices and resolve discrepancies related to freight charges.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Sea Freight Agent or similar role within freight forwarding.
- In-depth knowledge of sea freight operations, including FCL and LCL shipments.
- Strong understanding of customs procedures and international shipping regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- Exceptional organizational and time management abilities, with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to challenges.
- Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering high-quality service.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant certifications in freight forwarding, logistics, or international trade.
