Job Description
Hiring.zycto is seeking a dedicated and proactive Procurement Officer to join our dynamic team in Guildford. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in managing our procurement processes from end-to-end, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services essential for our operations. You will be responsible for developing strong supplier relationships, negotiating favourable terms, and upholding our high standards of quality and efficiency. This position requires an individual with a keen eye for detail, exceptional negotiation skills, and a strategic mindset to identify opportunities for process improvement and cost savings.
Working closely with various departments, you will ensure that all procurement activities align with company policies, regulatory requirements, and budgetary constraints. Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end procurement process, from requisition to purchase order issuance and delivery follow-up.
- Identify and onboard new suppliers, conducting thorough due diligence and risk assessments.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to achieve optimal value and cost savings.
- Develop and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Monitor supplier performance, ensuring adherence to quality, delivery, and service level agreements.
- Conduct market research and spend analysis to identify trends and potential areas for cost reduction.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies, ethical guidelines, and legal regulations.
- Prepare and present regular reports on procurement activities, performance metrics, and cost savings initiatives.
- Collaborate with finance, operations, and project teams to forecast demand and plan procurement needs.
- Implement and maintain procurement best practices, seeking opportunities for process automation and efficiency gains.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Procurement Officer or in a similar role (minimum 3 years).
- Strong negotiation and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in procurement software and MS Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Demonstrated ability to manage supplier relationships effectively.
- Sound understanding of supply chain management principles.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- CIPS qualification (or working towards).
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
