Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Sort, inspect, and organize incoming food donations, ensuring proper storage and inventory management.
  • Prepare food hampers and packages according to specified guidelines and client needs.
  • Assist with the distribution of food items to clients during designated pick-up times, maintaining a respectful and welcoming environment.
  • Stock shelves and maintain cleanliness and organization of the food bank storage and distribution areas.
  • Help with general tidying and light cleaning of the facility to ensure a safe and hygienic environment.
  • Assist with the unloading and loading of food deliveries, which may involve some moderate lifting (up to 20-30 lbs).
  • Adhere strictly to all food safety, hygiene, and health and safety regulations.
  • Provide friendly and courteous assistance to clients, respecting their privacy and dignity.
  • Collaborate effectively with other volunteers and staff to ensure smooth operations.
