As a Safety Engineer with Hiring.zycto, you will be instrumental in developing, implementing, and monitoring robust safety management systems. You will play a crucial role in identifying potential hazards, assessing risks, and designing preventative measures to protect our workforce, contractors, and the wider community. Your expertise will guide our project teams from conception through to completion, ensuring adherence to all relevant national and international safety legislation, industry best practices, and our internal policies.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive Health & Safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments, hazard identification, and incident investigations.
- Perform regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with H&S regulations and company standards.
- Provide expert guidance and support to project teams on all safety-related matters throughout project lifecycles.
- Ensure the organisation adheres to all relevant national and international health, safety, and environmental legislation (e.g., HASAWA, CDM Regulations).
- Design and deliver effective safety training programs and workshops for employees and contractors.
- Maintain accurate records of safety performance, incidents, audits, and training.
- Promote a proactive safety culture through communication, engagement, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with external regulatory bodies and emergency services as required.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field.
- NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent recognised safety qualification.
- Minimum of 4 years of proven experience as a Safety Engineer or similar role, preferably within an engineering or construction environment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and industry best practices.
- Demonstrated expertise in risk assessment methodologies and control measures.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities, with experience in report writing and presentations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and safety management software.
- Ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all organisational levels.
Preferred Qualifications
- Chartered membership of IOSH (CMIOSH) or working towards it.
- Experience with ISO 45001 (Occupational Health and Safety Management System).
- Auditing qualifications (e.g., Lead Auditor ISO 45001).
- First Aid at Work certification.
- Experience in environmental management systems.
