Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive research and analysis of climate data, including historical trends, projections, and impact assessments.
- Develop and apply quantitative and qualitative methodologies to analyze climate change vulnerabilities, risks, and opportunities.
- Utilize GIS and remote sensing tools for spatial analysis of environmental and socio-economic data related to climate change.
- Prepare detailed reports, scientific papers, policy briefs, and presentations summarizing research findings for various audiences.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, external partners, and stakeholders to integrate climate considerations into projects and policies.
- Monitor advancements in climate science, policy, and technological innovations, providing expert insights and recommendations.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of climate change adaptation and mitigation strategies.
- Participate in stakeholder consultations and workshops to gather input and disseminate research outcomes.
- Assist in grant writing and project proposal development to secure funding for climate research initiatives.
Required Skills
- Master's degree in Environmental Science, Climate Science, Geography, Hydrology, or a closely related field.
- 3+ years of professional experience in climate change research or environmental analysis.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis software (e.g., R, Python, SPSS) and data visualization tools.
- Advanced experience with GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) for spatial data analysis and mapping.
- Demonstrated strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex scientific concepts to diverse audiences.
- In-depth knowledge of climate change science, impacts, adaptation, and mitigation frameworks.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D. in a relevant scientific discipline.
- Experience with climate modeling (e.g., GCMs, RCMs) or downscaling techniques.
- Familiarity with remote sensing data analysis and processing.
