Key Responsibilities
- Assist skilled Sheet Metal Workers in various fabrication and installation tasks.
- Learn to safely operate basic sheet metal machinery and hand tools under supervision.
- Measure, cut, and form sheet metal components according to specifications and blueprints.
- Perform basic assembly, fastening, and joining tasks of metal parts.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering strictly to all safety regulations and company policies.
- Transport materials and tools efficiently to and from work areas as needed.
- Develop the ability to read and interpret simple blueprints and technical drawings with guidance from senior staff.
Required Skills
- Strong mechanical aptitude and a genuine willingness to learn a skilled trade.
- Basic understanding of measurements and fundamental mathematics (addition, subtraction, fractions).
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions meticulously and ask clarifying questions.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift and move materials up to 50 lbs repeatedly.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Commitment to adhering to all safety protocols and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Reliable, punctual, and possessing a strong work ethic.
