Job Description
Hiring.zycto is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Environmental Engineer to join our growing remote team. This is a unique opportunity to apply your expertise in environmental science and engineering to a diverse portfolio of projects, contributing to sustainable development from anywhere in the UK, with a base in the vibrant Wandsworth, London area. As a core member of our engineering group, you will be instrumental in developing, implementing, and monitoring environmental management plans, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, and advising clients on best practices. You will leverage your technical acumen to conduct environmental impact assessments, design pollution control systems, manage waste strategies, and provide robust environmental reporting. This role requires a professional capable of working autonomously, collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams using digital tools, and maintaining clear communication with stakeholders. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough environmental impact assessments (EIAs) and prepare detailed environmental statements for various projects.
- Develop, implement, and monitor environmental management systems (EMS) in accordance with ISO 14001 standards.
- Ensure strict compliance with UK and European environmental regulations, permits, and licensing requirements.
- Design and optimize pollution prevention and control technologies for air, water, and waste management.
- Perform environmental data analysis, interpret findings, and generate comprehensive technical reports and presentations.
- Provide expert environmental advice and technical support to clients and internal project teams.
- Manage environmental projects from inception to completion, including scope definition, budgeting, and scheduling.
Required Skills
- Proven experience with UK and EU environmental legislation and regulatory frameworks.
- Strong proficiency in conducting Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs).
- Expertise in environmental data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical report writing.
- Demonstrated project management capabilities, including planning and execution.
- Proficiency with GIS software and environmental modeling tools.
- Ability to work effectively in a remote setting, utilizing collaboration and communication platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Chartered Environmentalist (CEnv) or working towards chartership with a relevant professional body.
- Experience with sustainable design principles and circular economy concepts.
- Familiarity with contaminated land assessment and remediation strategies.
- Previous consulting experience in a client-facing role.
