Key Responsibilities
- Greet and assist gallery visitors, providing detailed information about current exhibitions, featured artists, and available artworks.
- Maintain the pristine condition of the gallery space, including daily cleaning, tidying, and meticulous art handling under supervision.
- Assist with the professional installation and de-installation of artworks for new exhibitions, private viewings, and art fairs.
- Process sales transactions accurately, manage artwork inventory, and maintain comprehensive client records using our internal database system.
- Support gallery events, exhibition openings, and educational programs, including setup, guest registration, and post-event breakdown.
- Manage essential administrative tasks such as answering phones, responding to email inquiries, and organizing office and gallery supplies.
- Assist with marketing efforts, including preparing exhibition materials, drafting social media content, and contributing to newsletter campaigns.
Required Skills
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organizational abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
- Proficiency in basic office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace).
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- A genuine passion for art, culture, and a desire to learn about the art market.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift/move artworks (up to 25 lbs) with assistance.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic and a proactive attitude.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a customer service, retail, or hospitality environment.
- Knowledge of art history, contemporary art trends, or visual arts practices.
- Familiarity with inventory management or CRM software specific to galleries.
