Key Responsibilities
- Execute lighting designs for various stage productions, concerts, corporate events, and live shows.
- Set up, rig, focus, and operate a wide range of lighting fixtures, consoles, and associated equipment (e.g., moving lights, conventional fixtures, LEDs, DMX systems).
- Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of lighting equipment to ensure optimal functionality and safety.
- Collaborate closely with lighting designers, directors, stage managers, and other technical crew members to achieve desired artistic and technical outcomes.
- Program and operate lighting consoles (e.g., GrandMA, Hog, Avolites) during rehearsals and live performances.
- Conduct pre-production checks, load-ins, and load-outs efficiently and safely.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and regulations for stage rigging and electrical work.
- Assist in the inventory management of lighting equipment and supplies.
- Provide technical support during technical rehearsals and dress rehearsals, making adjustments as required.
- Stay updated with new lighting technologies, techniques, and industry best practices.
Required Skills
- Minimum 2-3 years of proven experience as a Lighting Technician or similar role in live events, theatre, or concert production.
- Strong proficiency in setting up, operating, and troubleshooting various lighting consoles (e.g., GrandMA, Hog, Avolites) and fixtures.
- Solid understanding of DMX, Art-Net, sACN protocols and networking for lighting systems.
- Ability to read and interpret lighting plots, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Excellent knowledge of electrical safety practices and stage rigging techniques.
- Physical ability to lift heavy equipment, climb ladders, and work in various stage environments.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Exceptional teamwork and communication skills.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as per event schedules.
Preferred Qualifications
- Formal education or certification in Lighting Design, Technical Theatre, or a related field.
- Experience with CAD software for lighting plot creation (e.g., Vectorworks Spotlight).
- Familiarity with media servers and video integration for stage productions.
- Valid fall arrest and aerial lift certifications.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Class G driver's license with a clean driving record.
