Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of individuals' and families' needs, risks, and strengths.
- Develop, implement, and review care plans tailored to individual circumstances, promoting well-being and independence.
- Provide direct support, advice, and advocacy to service users, ensuring their voices are heard and rights are upheld.
- Safeguard vulnerable children and adults by identifying risks, responding to concerns, and initiating appropriate protective actions.
- Manage a diverse caseload, prioritizing interventions based on urgency and risk.
- Collaborate effectively with multi-disciplinary teams, including healthcare professionals, educators, and legal services.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, ensuring compliance with professional standards and organizational policies.
- Participate in regular supervision, training, and continuous professional development activities.
- Attend case conferences, court hearings, and other relevant meetings, providing expert input and reports.
- Facilitate access to community resources and support networks for service users.
Required Skills
- Degree in Social Work (e.g., BA Hons Social Work or equivalent)
- Registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC)
- Minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience in a social work setting
- Proven experience in assessment, care planning, and risk management
- In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures (e.g., Social Work (Scotland) Act 1968, Children (Scotland) Act 1995)
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and report writing skills
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Demonstrable commitment to anti-discriminatory practice and cultural competence
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with diverse client groups (e.g., children and families, adults, mental health)
- Post-graduate qualification in a related field
- Experience with case management systems and electronic record keeping
- Full UK driving license and access to a car for work purposes
