Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough research and gather information on local news, events, and community issues within New Orleans, with a specific focus on the Lower Ninth Ward.
- Interview sources, witnesses, and community members to obtain accurate and compelling information.
- Write clear, concise, and engaging news stories, features, and reports for various media platforms (digital, print, audio/visual).
- Develop and maintain a network of credible sources and contacts within the community.

- Collaborate closely with editors, photographers, and videographers to produce high-quality journalistic content.
- Verify facts, data, and information through multiple sources to ensure accuracy and journalistic integrity.

- Proactively pitch new story ideas and investigate leads to uncover unique local narratives.
- Utilize social media and digital tools for reporting, promotion, and community engagement.
