Job Description

The Employee Relations Officer at Hiring.zycto plays a pivotal role in maintaining a harmonious and productive work environment. Based in Allerton, Liverpool, this full-time position demands a proactive professional with a deep understanding of employment law, conflict resolution, and employee advocacy. As an Employee Relations Officer, you will be instrumental in upholding our commitment to fairness, transparency, and respect. You will manage and resolve employee grievances, conduct thorough investigations into workplace issues, and provide expert guidance to managers on disciplinary procedures, performance management, and policy interpretation. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and resolve employee grievances and disputes promptly and fairly, adhering to company policy and legal requirements.
  • Conduct thorough, impartial, and confidential investigations into workplace issues, including harassment, discrimination, and misconduct allegations.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and complex employment law matters.
  • Develop, implement, and interpret HR policies and procedures to ensure compliance with UK legislation and align with best practices.
  • Facilitate mediation and conflict resolution processes to achieve constructive and positive outcomes for all parties involved.
  • Lead and advise on disciplinary and grievance meetings, ensuring fair process, accurate documentation, and consistent application.
  • Prepare detailed analytical reports on employee relations cases, trends, and outcomes for management review to inform strategic decisions.
  • Contribute to the design and delivery of employee relations training programs for managers and staff to enhance their skills and understanding.
  • Stay updated on current and evolving employment legislation, case law, and HR best practices to ensure continuous compliance and proactive solutions.
  • Support the overall HR function as required, actively contributing to a positive, inclusive, and productive workplace culture.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience (at least 4 years) in employee relations, HR generalist, or a closely related HR specialism.
  • In-depth knowledge and practical application of UK employment law, including unfair dismissal, discrimination, and grievance procedures.
  • Exceptional conflict resolution, mediation, and negotiation skills with a track record of successful outcomes.
  • Strong investigative, analytical, and problem-solving abilities, capable of handling sensitive and complex cases.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise sound judgment, and act with integrity and impartiality.
  • Proficiency in HR Information Systems (HRIS) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and trust with employees and management at all levels.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CIPD Level 5 (Associate Diploma in People Management) or higher, or an equivalent HR qualification.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume, or multi-site organizational environment.
  • Proficiency with specific HR software platforms such as Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, or similar enterprise solutions.
  • A background in policy development, review, and successful implementation.
  • Previous experience in designing and delivering HR or employee relations-related training sessions to diverse audiences.
