Key Responsibilities
- Perform precise alterations and repairs on a variety of garments and fabric items.
- Operate industrial and domestic sewing machines, sergers, and other specialized equipment.
- Interpret design specifications, patterns, and client requests accurately.
- Measure, cut, and sew fabrics to create custom garments, accessories, or prototypes.
- Conduct quality control checks to ensure all finished products meet company standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring tools and equipment are properly cared for.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize workflow and meet production deadlines.
- Advise clients on fabric choices, fitting adjustments, and design possibilities when needed.
- Stay updated on current fashion trends, sewing techniques, and material innovations.
- Manage time efficiently to handle multiple projects simultaneously without compromising quality.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in operating industrial and domestic sewing machines
- Strong understanding of garment construction and textile properties
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Ability to read and interpret patterns and design sketches
- Proven experience with various alteration techniques (hemming, tapering, resizing, etc.)
- Attention to detail and a high standard for quality craftsmanship
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Basic knowledge of fabric care and maintenance
