Key Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in and complete all components of the provided truck driver training program.
  • Learn and apply all provincial and federal transportation regulations.
  • Master pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment.
  • Develop proficiency in safe driving techniques, including defensive driving and adverse weather conditions.
  • Understand and practice proper load securement procedures for various cargo types.
  • Learn to operate communication and navigation systems effectively.
  • Accurately complete logbooks, bills of lading, and other required documentation.
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other team members.
  • Maintain a clean and organized vehicle environment.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to learning and professional development.

Required Skills

  • Valid Class 5 (or equivalent) driver's license with a clean driving abstract.
  • Strong commitment to safety and adherence to regulations.
  • Excellent work ethic and reliability.
  • Ability to follow instructions and learn new skills quickly.
  • Basic communication skills (reading, writing, and speaking English).
  • Physical ability to perform duties associated with truck driving (e.g., climbing, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs).
  • Must be at least 18 years of age (or minimum legal age for commercial driving in Manitoba).

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in a physically demanding role.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude or understanding of vehicle maintenance.
  • Experience operating manual transmissions.
