Key Responsibilities
- Actively participate in and complete all components of the provided truck driver training program.
- Learn and apply all provincial and federal transportation regulations.
- Master pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment.
- Develop proficiency in safe driving techniques, including defensive driving and adverse weather conditions.
- Understand and practice proper load securement procedures for various cargo types.
- Learn to operate communication and navigation systems effectively.
- Accurately complete logbooks, bills of lading, and other required documentation.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and other team members.
- Maintain a clean and organized vehicle environment.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to learning and professional development.
Required Skills
- Valid Class 5 (or equivalent) driver's license with a clean driving abstract.
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to regulations.
- Excellent work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to follow instructions and learn new skills quickly.
- Basic communication skills (reading, writing, and speaking English).
- Physical ability to perform duties associated with truck driving (e.g., climbing, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs).
- Must be at least 18 years of age (or minimum legal age for commercial driving in Manitoba).
