Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive analysis of client energy data, including utility bills, meter data, and operational parameters, to identify consumption trends and areas for optimization.
- Develop and implement energy models and forecasts to predict future consumption, evaluate potential savings, and assess the impact of energy conservation measures.
- Perform detailed cost-benefit analyses for various energy efficiency projects, renewable energy installations, and demand-side management strategies.
- Prepare clear, concise, and impactful reports and presentations summarizing findings, recommendations, and progress for internal teams and external clients.
- Stay abreast of relevant energy regulations, market trends, technological advancements, and government incentives to inform strategic planning and client advice.
- Support the development of proposals and technical specifications for energy-related projects, ensuring alignment with client objectives and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with engineering, finance, and project management teams to ensure seamless execution of energy management initiatives.
- Provide technical expertise and support during client meetings and workshops, explaining complex energy concepts in an accessible manner.
Required Skills
- Minimum 3 years of experience as an Energy Analyst or in a similar role within the energy sector.
- Strong proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Python, R) and energy modeling software.
- Demonstrated understanding of energy systems, renewable technologies, and energy efficiency principles.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Proven ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and strategic recommendations.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly.
- Self-motivated, able to work independently in a remote setting, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Energy Management, or a related quantitative field.
- Professional certification such as Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or similar.
- Experience with building energy management systems (BEMS) or industrial energy audits.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks and incentive programs for energy efficiency in Canada.
