As a Carpenter Helper, you will be an integral part of our construction crew, assisting skilled carpenters with a variety of tasks on diverse projects ranging from residential renovations to commercial build-outs. Your day will be dynamic, involving hands-on work, material handling, site organization, and direct exposure to various carpentry techniques and tools. Key Responsibilities
- Assist skilled carpenters with framing, decking, trim work, and other carpentry tasks.
- Load, unload, and transport building materials, tools, and equipment safely across job sites.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment by clearing debris, sweeping, and disposing of waste.
- Learn to identify and correctly use various hand and power tools under supervision.
- Perform basic measurements, cutting, and assembly tasks as directed.
- Erect and dismantle temporary structures such as scaffolding and barricades.
- Follow all safety procedures, company policies, and provincial regulations diligently.
- Support site preparation activities, including protection of existing structures and layout assistance.
- Actively participate in learning opportunities and ask questions to enhance understanding.
Required Skills
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.
- Strong eagerness to learn and a positive, can-do attitude.
