Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert first and second-line application support, troubleshooting and resolving issues related to system functionality, performance, and data integrity.
- Monitor application health and performance proactively, identifying potential issues and implementing corrective actions before they impact users.
- Perform root cause analysis for recurring incidents, developing and implementing permanent solutions or workarounds.
- Document solutions, procedures, and known errors in a comprehensive knowledge base to facilitate efficient problem resolution and user self-service.
- Collaborate with development, QA, and infrastructure teams to escalate complex issues, test fixes, and contribute to release management activities.
- Communicate effectively with end-users and stakeholders, providing status updates, clear instructions, and managing expectations.
- Assist in the deployment of new application releases and patches, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruption.
- Participate in an on-call rotation schedule to provide support for critical application issues outside of regular business hours (if applicable).
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance application stability, performance, and user experience.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in an Application Support or similar technical support role.
- Strong proficiency in SQL for data querying, manipulation, and analysis.
- Experience with ticketing systems (e.g., Jira Service Desk, ServiceNow) and ITIL best practices.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues and perform root cause analysis.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell, Bash) for automation and data extraction.
- Understanding of web technologies (HTTP/S, REST APIs) and their role in application integration.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a remote, distributed team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
