Key Responsibilities
- Participate actively in all provided training programs to gain proficiency in underground mining operations and safety protocols.
- Operate and maintain various mining equipment under supervision, including drills, loaders, and haulage trucks, as training progresses.
- Adhere strictly to all safety procedures, policies, and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your team.
- Assist in the installation and maintenance of ground support systems, such as rock bolts and mesh.
- Monitor ventilation systems and assist with the setup of temporary systems as required.
- Perform general labour duties, including scaling, mucking, and material handling.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding operational status, hazards, and progress.
- Participate in pre-shift meetings, hazard assessments, and incident reporting.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to minimize risks.
- Contribute to a positive and productive team culture.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Strong commitment to safety and adherence to all safety regulations.
- Ability to comprehend and follow detailed instructions.
- Physical fitness and stamina to perform demanding manual labour in various conditions.
- Willingness to work in underground environments, including confined spaces and varying temperatures.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Must be eligible to work in Canada.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in heavy industrial, construction, or labour-intensive roles.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license (or equivalent).
- First Aid/CPR certification.
- Experience operating heavy equipment (e.g., forklift, skid steer).
