Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate actively in all provided training programs to gain proficiency in underground mining operations and safety protocols.
  • Operate and maintain various mining equipment under supervision, including drills, loaders, and haulage trucks, as training progresses.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety procedures, policies, and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your team.
  • Assist in the installation and maintenance of ground support systems, such as rock bolts and mesh.
  • Monitor ventilation systems and assist with the setup of temporary systems as required.
  • Perform general labour duties, including scaling, mucking, and material handling.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding operational status, hazards, and progress.
  • Participate in pre-shift meetings, hazard assessments, and incident reporting.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to minimize risks.
  • Contribute to a positive and productive team culture.

Required Skills

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Strong commitment to safety and adherence to all safety regulations.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow detailed instructions.
  • Physical fitness and stamina to perform demanding manual labour in various conditions.
  • Willingness to work in underground environments, including confined spaces and varying temperatures.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in heavy industrial, construction, or labour-intensive roles.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license (or equivalent).
  • First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Experience operating heavy equipment (e.g., forklift, skid steer).
