Job Description
Hiring.zycto is on the lookout for dedicated and energetic individuals to join our vital night shift team as Package Sorters. In this fast-paced warehouse environment located in Leaside-Bennington, Toronto, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that packages are accurately sorted, scanned, and prepared for their next stage of delivery. Key Responsibilities
- Accurately sort packages by destination, weight, and size onto designated conveyors or into bins.
- Scan packages using handheld devices to ensure proper tracking and inventory control.
- Load and unload packages from trucks, pallets, and conveyor belts efficiently and safely.
- Inspect packages for damage and report any irregularities to a supervisor.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Collaborate with team members to achieve daily sorting targets and operational goals.
- Operate various warehouse equipment, such as pallet jacks, in a safe and responsible manner (training provided if needed).
- Perform repetitive tasks with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 50 lbs regularly.
- Proven reliability and punctuality, especially for night shift schedules.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Basic computer literacy for scanning and data entry tasks.
- Capable of working in a physically demanding environment, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
- Excellent team player with good communication skills.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, or similar industrial environment.
- Familiarity with scanning equipment and warehouse management systems.
- Experience working night shifts.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
