Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior operators in the monitoring and control of mineral processing equipment, including crushers, conveyors, screens, and pumps.
  • Learn and adhere strictly to all company safety policies, procedures, and environmental regulations.
  • Perform routine checks and inspections of equipment for operational issues and report abnormalities promptly.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization within the plant area, including sweeping, shoveling, and general housekeeping duties.
  • Assist with material handling, including loading, unloading, and staging raw materials or processed products.
  • Participate in all provided training sessions to develop a comprehensive understanding of processing operations.
  • Operate basic hand tools and power tools safely as required under supervision.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding operational status and safety concerns.
  • Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.

Required Skills

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Strong commitment to safety and willingness to learn and adhere to safety protocols.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
  • Good observational skills and attention to detail.
  • Physical ability to perform manual labor, including standing, lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, and climbing.
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced industrial environment.
  • Basic literacy and numeracy skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Valid Class 5 Nova Scotia Driver's License.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude or familiarity with industrial equipment.
  • Previous experience in physically demanding roles or outdoor work.
  • First Aid/CPR certification (can be obtained on the job).
