Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior operators in the monitoring and control of mineral processing equipment, including crushers, conveyors, screens, and pumps.
- Learn and adhere strictly to all company safety policies, procedures, and environmental regulations.
- Perform routine checks and inspections of equipment for operational issues and report abnormalities promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the plant area, including sweeping, shoveling, and general housekeeping duties.
- Assist with material handling, including loading, unloading, and staging raw materials or processed products.
- Participate in all provided training sessions to develop a comprehensive understanding of processing operations.
- Operate basic hand tools and power tools safely as required under supervision.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding operational status and safety concerns.
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative team environment.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Strong commitment to safety and willingness to learn and adhere to safety protocols.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
- Good observational skills and attention to detail.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, including standing, lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, and climbing.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced industrial environment.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid Class 5 Nova Scotia Driver's License.
- Basic mechanical aptitude or familiarity with industrial equipment.
- Previous experience in physically demanding roles or outdoor work.
- First Aid/CPR certification (can be obtained on the job).
