Job Description
Hiring.zycto is actively seeking dedicated and physically capable Concrete Laborers to join our growing construction team in Mount Pleasant West, Toronto. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who thrive in a hands-on environment and are eager to contribute to significant building projects across the city. As a Concrete Laborer, you will be an integral part of our crew, assisting skilled tradespeople and ensuring that all concrete-related tasks are executed safely and efficiently.
Your day-to-day will involve a variety of critical activities, from preparing job sites and handling essential materials to participating directly in the mixing, pouring, and finishing of concrete. We work on diverse projects, from commercial foundations to residential structures, meaning no two days are exactly alike. You’ll gain valuable experience operating various hand and power tools, assisting with formwork, rebar placement, and ensuring the proper curing of concrete surfaces.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, clean, and maintain construction sites, ensuring a safe and organized work area.
- Load, unload, and move construction materials, tools, and equipment efficiently and safely.
- Assist in the setting up and dismantling of concrete forms, rebar, and scaffolding according to specifications.
- Mix, pour, spread, and finish concrete, cement, grout, and related materials under supervision.
- Operate hand and power tools, including but not limited to jackhammers, vibrators, power trowels, and concrete saws.
- Perform physically demanding tasks such as digging, trenching, lifting heavy objects (up to 50 lbs regularly), and carrying materials.
- Monitor concrete curing processes and apply appropriate treatments to ensure quality and durability.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, as well as industry safety regulations.
- Maintain all tools and equipment in good working order, reporting any defects or malfunctions.
- Collaborate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other trades on site.
- Assist skilled concrete finishers and masons as required to complete projects on time and to standard.

- Physical strength and stamina for demanding work

- Basic understanding of construction site safety practices

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (1+ year) as a Concrete Laborer or in general construction
- Valid G Class Driver's License with a clean driving record
- Experience operating power tools specific to concrete work (e.g., vibrators, power screeds)
- Knowledge of concrete mixing ratios and basic finishing techniques
- Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) certification
- Working at Heights certification
- First Aid/CPR certification
