Job Description

Hiring.zycto is actively seeking motivated and diligent individuals to join our team as Seasonal Cannery Workers in Sydney, Nova Scotia. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform various tasks on the production line, including sorting, cleaning, cutting, and packaging seafood products.
  • Operate and monitor processing equipment under supervision, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
  • Adhere strictly to all food safety regulations, sanitation protocols, and quality control procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area throughout shifts, including regular sanitization of equipment and surfaces.
  • Inspect products for quality defects, ensuring only compliant items proceed through the production process.
  • Assist with loading and unloading materials, as well as preparing products for shipment.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to meet daily production targets.
  • Follow all company health and safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.

Required Skills

  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
  • Capable of standing, lifting (up to 25 kg), bending, and reaching consistently.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
  • Reliability and punctuality are essential.
  • Comfortable working in a cool, damp, and potentially odorous environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a food processing, manufacturing, or cannery environment.
  • Knowledge of HACCP principles or food safety standards.
  • Valid Food Handler's Certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
