Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior HVAC technicians and installers with various tasks, including carrying tools and materials, setting up equipment, and site preparation.
- Learn and perform basic tasks such as cutting and fitting ductwork, connecting wiring, and securing components under direct supervision.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring tools and equipment are properly stored and cared for.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Prepare work areas by moving obstacles, covering sensitive surfaces, and ensuring a safe and efficient workspace.
- Help with the loading and unloading of HVAC equipment and supplies at job sites.
- Shadow experienced professionals to observe and understand best practices in HVAC installation and service.
- Perform general labour duties as required to support the construction and HVAC teams.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
- Reliability and punctuality are paramount.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
- Basic understanding of safety practices in a construction setting (or willingness to learn immediately).
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid G-class driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Completion of a basic construction safety course (e.g., Working at Heights, WHMIS).
- Prior experience with hand and power tools (e.g., drills, saws).
- Demonstrated interest in the HVAC or construction trades.
