Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook nutritious and delicious meals, including breakfast, lunch, and dinner, following established recipes and menus.
- Accommodate various dietary restrictions, allergies, and modified textures (e.g., pureed, minced) as required by residents.
- Ensure food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP) are consistently met in all stages of food preparation, storage, and service.
- Assist with menu planning, considering nutritional balance, resident preferences, and seasonal availability of ingredients.
- Manage kitchen inventory, monitor stock levels, and assist with ordering supplies to minimize waste and ensure efficiency.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, including equipment, work surfaces, and storage areas.
- Collaborate effectively with other kitchen staff, dietary managers, and care teams to ensure seamless service.
- Monitor food quality, presentation, and portion control.
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Cook, preferably in a retirement home, long-term care, or institutional setting.
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations and HACCP principles.
- Ability to prepare meals for various dietary needs and restrictions.
- Excellent cooking skills and knowledge of diverse culinary techniques.
- Organizational and time management skills.

Preferred Qualifications
