Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare treatment areas and equipment for patient sessions.
  • Assist Physiotherapists in implementing prescribed exercise programs and therapeutic interventions.
  • Guide patients through exercises and mobility drills under direct supervision, ensuring proper technique and safety.
  • Monitor patient progress and comfort during treatments, reporting observations to the supervising Physiotherapist.
  • Apply various therapeutic modalities as instructed (e.g., heat/cold packs, TENS unit setup).
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, treatment rooms, and equipment.
  • Assist patients with transfers, ambulation, and positioning as needed.
  • Document basic patient information and treatment logs accurately.
  • Support administrative tasks such as scheduling, filing, and managing supplies.
  • Adhere strictly to all clinic policies, safety protocols, and patient confidentiality guidelines.
  • Engage with patients in a professional, empathetic, and encouraging manner.

Required Skills

  • Diploma or Certificate in Physiotherapy Assistant (PTA) or Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) program.
  • Previous volunteer or internship experience in a clinical or healthcare setting.
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
  • CPR and First Aid certification.
