Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments, including standardized tests and clinical observations, to identify client needs and goals.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, client goals, and evidence-based practices.
- Provide therapeutic interventions, adaptive equipment recommendations, and environmental modifications to enhance functional independence.
- Educate clients, families, and caregivers on therapeutic techniques, adaptive strategies, and home exercise programs.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential client records in accordance with professional and organizational standards.
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary team members, clients, and external stakeholders to ensure coordinated care.
- Participate in case conferences, team meetings, and contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Adhere to all regulatory and ethical standards set by the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO) and company policies.
Required Skills
- Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program.
- Current registration in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO).
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience as a registered Occupational Therapist.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct comprehensive assessments and develop effective treatment plans.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and rapport-building skills.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage a diverse caseload independently.
- Proficiency in documentation and record-keeping.
- Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle for potential community visits.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with diverse populations (e.g., neurological, orthopedic, geriatric, pediatric).
- Additional certifications in specialized areas (e.g., hand therapy, seating and mobility, cognitive rehabilitation).
- Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Experience in a community-based rehabilitation setting.
