Key Responsibilities
- Assist in conducting ecological fieldwork, including wetland delineations, habitat assessments, and rare species surveys.
- Collect, organize, and analyze environmental data using scientific methods and tools.
- Prepare accurate field notes, data sheets, and photographic documentation.
- Contribute to the preparation of environmental reports, permit applications, and technical memoranda.
- Operate and maintain field equipment effectively and safely.
- Utilize GIS software for mapping, data visualization, and spatial analysis.
- Support senior ecologists in project planning, research, and client communication.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and environmental regulations during fieldwork and office tasks.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, Biology, or a related field.
- Strong foundational knowledge of ecological principles, wetland ecology, and local flora/fauna.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in data collection, organization, and basic analysis.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel for fieldwork.
- Physical ability to work in challenging outdoor conditions (uneven terrain, varying weather).
Preferred Qualifications

- OSHA HAZWOPER 40-hour certification (or willingness to obtain).
